Ray McCall: +Vara Lakshmi I believe that the world we live in has opportunity for people w/the qualification in your field and that your nationality shouldn't matter. It's the company that loose not you, what do we gain from being closed mind and separate?

Vara Lakshmi: +Ray McCall: Still my doubt is virgin :-) See, am currently working as an Accounts Head in Sharjah, UAE. Since from March, I do apply to the related posts.. Till date, no one contact me.. That's why am asking, will this helpful OR should i take any other effort? If you have time, pls clarify OR suggest me if any other chances also there..

Simon Trew: damn, I forgot the homosexuals. If gay (male) talk about Armani in a nice shade of Dulux, if gay (female) talk about that Armarni would be a nice name for colour of paint. There, I think I have covered it... which is more than Dulux does, whatever it says on the tin.

Simon Trew: I shouldn't have to but I better: I add a rejoinder, I am not homophobic or anti-women or (which I did not mention at all) against people who are black or beige or whatever people want to self-identify as. I am very very lucky; I am a white male heterosexual and STILL I haven't won the lottery. But I know I am very lucky to be so. I don't work in HR or anything except as a team lead coaching my team. All of the (few) women engineers I have known have been excellent engineers, well one was a bit scatty but not because she was a woman. I don't think we should have a law that bans discrimination on any grounds. If you don't think that an interview process is discrimination, I am not sure you understand what an interview process is. Or an exam process. The whole point is to discriminate in both, they are much the same. I worked hard all my life and have almost nothing to show for it, you can do better. But I treated people well along the way. A good friend of mine And "came out" as gay when I was team lead, he confessed (I cannot put it a different way) that he was gay. I said Andy, we all knew that. Then we all went down the pub, all twenty of my team, to a good gay pub and drank the night away. I think he partnered me in a foxtrot at our christmas dance one year, but I forget who was the lead and who was the woman's part. Well before "strictly", I must have been the lead I guess. As I say, do what you want. If you have an opportunity to say on a form "ethnic origin" or "sexual orientation" or anything like that, scrub it out. just put in all the answers or scrub it out, spoil your paper. Always vote but scrub that shit out. I treat everybody equally badly. I am not going to make an exception for everyone who is not white male homosexual aged 45 and so on, otherwise there would only be me and the cat left, and what fun would that be?
