“As the mother of twins, when I send my kids to school, I expect them to be safe and shielded from ridicule,” said GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. “This discriminatory bill puts our children in harm’s way, fueling stigma, bullying, and a climate of hate. Gov. Daugaard must fulfill his duty to protect all South Dakotans, especially its young people, by vetoing this mean-spirited and destructive bill.”
GLAAD urges the media to share the perspectives of transgender South Dakotans on HB 1008, and to hold South Dakota legislators accountable for their biased and inaccurate statements about transgender people.

read the email you sent me, I would have really become a part of GLAAD ..but unfortunately I do not live in the USA and reside in United Kingdom
I do hope that you have got in touch with Lea Delaria on your cause, and I hope you do not allow a female artist Ms Gaga attempt to take over the cause and somehow control.
My reason for stating this, is that I have watched many interviews with Gaga and no matter what social issue Gaga states one hand shes " more gay than her gay friends, Im all lesbian , im bi-sexual ... "IM" sick of hearing shes given a status she has no real integrity as a spokesperson If you can remember, Her "Born This Way" Foundation~ was exposed to have public taxes to view and how she got away with the fact fans and others donated a large sum of $2.5 million dollars.. BUT only $8000 thousand of that was given to small number of causes, The manager of the Foundation is ? Ms Gaga`s Mother, and control of the financial side, when asked upon the foundations funds all gone. She was asked along with gaga , where have all the donations gone?..answer was money was used to pay for hotels and flights , food etc, as for $1.2 million Gaga`s mother stated she could not find details and it was unaccountable????
But nothing legal ensued , Put it this way if you include a high profiled female = Lady Gaga, whom when i was at a LGBT pride event , I watched her and her few payed friends making insult and profanity of a group of Butch Lesbians near them..
So how does anyone deal that she will lie and found to prove to lie on her sexuality esp when her partners have all been male..
I hope you take to the streets and make your presence known... and i have no worries about that, as same as USA or UK when the gay community have a issue or political state imposed upon us, we all march and stop the whole of London City down .. NEVER HAVE I WITNESSED ANY NEGATIVE OR AGGRESSION BE INVOLVED OR PART IN EVENTS// good luck to your cause
sincerely Boo.x

I don't think ONE day should be set aside to fight against bullying, but EVERYDAY should be a day where bullying is just not acceptable to decent, moral, sane human beings.  As one who has been bullied in the past, I support putting a bully with his nose in a corner until he sees that it's not a good feeling to be bullied.  Also, the tough guy is not necessarily the guy with the muscles and the strength, but the guy with the good sense and motivation to stand up to bullies and report bullies to the proper authorities, although having muscles and strength are great too.
