upcycling obsolete hardware
Having been emboldened by a successful conversion of my Thrustmaster F22 Flight Stick, I decided to try to capture all of the buttons on throttle too. A job that worked out easier than I expected as it turned out. I came across this page, where a conversion was described.

The DDS and related clock generation circuitry has made possible high accuracy, broad-banded programmable VFO functionality for very little money. Analogue Devices' AD9850 series offer HF frequencies for about €5. Higher frequencies can be had for not much more money, with the Silicon Labs SI570 ...

Projects using Pi  -

For anyone interested in radio or RF circuits. A Wobbulator is a vital piece of test gear. I got a kit to build one that is driven by a Pi
I came across am interesting project at the Mayo Radio Experimenter's Club Rally earlier this year. A Wobbulator. A small board that would piggy-back on a Raspberry Pi and utilise an Analog Devices AD9840 Direct Digital Synthesiser as an RF source. The purpose of a Wobbulator is to generate an ...

I love the old DEC stuff. I have a couple of uVAXen purely for nostalgia.

During HF field day 2010, I had occasion to get some experience with the off-centre fed dipole, in this case, a commercially made unit from Buckmaster. Prior to this, I had heard that OCF dipoles 'are a compromise', 'are noisy', 'are deaf', 'have wildly varying radiation patterns' and many other ...

I have enough trees around me that I would like to try a full-wave 160m loop.

The Galway VHF Group APRS system is to be completely overhauled. The introduction of an I-Gate at the Galway City site in Mervue will feed data directly into the International APRS network enabling tracks to be viewed live on http://www.aprs.fi A weather station feeding live information into the ...

Shiny!

Sometimes is pays to complain. InfiniiVision 3000 X-Series scopes come with free WAVEGEN and DVM options (due to a promo running almost the entire lifetime of the product). I was an enthusiastic early customer who just missed out on that promo. Thanks to great customer support from Agilent and my local reseller OTC Ireland, I now have my free WAVEGEN and DVM options. Thanks folks!!

Hi Julian, the age range would start from 13 onwards (no upper limitation) and no prior experience is required (ruby on rails makes it easy to approach the web development).

While for middle and primary school students, there are other hands-on workshops under planning or already running esp. thanks to Brendan Smith.

thanks a million for the interest and wishes^^

I have been a Blacknight customer for about 4 years. I do all my domain registration through them, and have a VPS for web hosting. Some of my requirements were a little "custom", in that I don't like using CPanel style admin tools. Blacknight were happy to accomodate my needs. On occasion had an issue with a domain transfer, and felt that I got very personalised attention from Blacknight. Having dealt with a number of hosting/registration companies, I would recommend Blacknight without reservation. Technically, they can compete with the big boys. In customer service, they leave them in their dust.
