“Consistently good” fare including a “terrific” weekend brunch attracts Francophiles to this “chic, bohemian” South End French staple (and Aquitaine sibling) in a subway tile–lined setting evoking an “old-world brasserie”; despite being “always hopping with a fun buzz”, it feels “well managed” thanks to “solid” service, with relatively “reasonable” prices plus “quiet courtyard” dining and free parking adding to the joie de vivre.
Nice quality French restaurant with lots of seafood choices. We had a group of 10, and the service remained excellent throughout the evening. The fresh baked warm baguettes were delightful, and everyone was pleased with their meals. There are even some vegetarian options.
The waiter was attentive and was able to offer the his opinion of the best dishes. Food was great. Portions were not large but were not too small either. Lighting is extremely dim so I would have preferred to go during lunch.
French is my favorite cuisine making Gaslight one of go-to restaurants that I also suggest to friends when they ask for recommendations. The food is consistently good for brunch, dinner and dessert. The service style is not rushed so you may have to get the attention of your server if you need something.
This is a very nice restaurant with a cozy and laid back atmosphere that still projects a classy feeling. Very good selection of food and Wine. Good for groups, business or a date. Never been disappointed here.
Amazing place with fantastic atmosphere. Had the escargot with boeuf bourguignon. Both were great and would recommend. However my girlfriend had the salmon and it was a bit boring and lacking flavor. Would not recommend getting that over some of the other great choices.
Good food overall. We mainly had a bunch of appetizers because those sounded a bit more to our liking, and they were quite good - tasty, if a bit small. The service was good, although the waitress was a bit too busy to pay attention to us. Nice ambiance, clean and elegant but not too posh.
