Today we throw it back just 5 years to the 2012 Miss Gardner-Webb Pageant. Lots of familiar GWU alumni in this photo! Sara Jolley, front right, was crowned Miss GW that year.

Dr. Hebert Palomino, associate professor of pastoral care and counseling, shares this as a favorite scripture and adds: “There is no doubt that we are facing community challenges in our midst and around the world. It seems like hope, meaning and purpose are fading away. If we only put our eyes on what is going on around us, for sure we will end up hopeless, helpless, purposeless and without meaning. God’s Word keeps reminding us about our true and unchangeable source of Hope, Purpose and Meaning! In spite of what’s going on around us and around the world, these words encourage me, affirm me and give me the confidence that I am not alone and therefore I don’t have to live in fear.”
