- I called to cancel my service today because it is just too much money and I have an offer from another monitoring company that will save me half of what I pay Frontpoint now. The gentleman I spoke to told me that I would have to buy a new panel because the panel I purchased from Frontpoint is locked to their service. I asked if I can have it unlocked since I own it free and clear. He said that Frontpoint would not do it. This seems very unethical that a company would hold a customer's equipment hostage like this. I am now determined to leave just on principal even if I have to pay for a new, unlocked panel. I will also recommend AGAINST going with Frontpoint to everyone with whom I have the opportunity to do so and I definitely will be leaving a complaint with the Better Business Bureau unless Frontpoint unlocks my panel.9w
- Darius Randall Followed up with me immediately. He was very helpful and professional. He assured me that I was misinformed and that I would have no problem taking my panel to another service provider once my service with Frontpoint is canceled. I applaud Frontpoint for their excellent efforts in rectifying this situation.9w
