So... +Tesla Motors workers nicknamed their factory robots after X-Men characters. Cool.
Tesla names its robots after superheroes, but Nissan prefers anime characters. Godzilla is a favorite everywhere.

Video: Palletizing Robot uses 2D and 3D Robotic Vision to palletize boxes.

Today's manufacturing facilities that require palletizing operations need a solution that is fast and error free. The solution in this video is both.

First, the new FANUC M-710iC/45M palletizing robot uses a FANUC iRVision 3D Area Sensor to locate boxes on a pallet to ensure that the boxes are properly placed, eliminating placement errors. Secondly, the robot uses FANUC iRVision 2D to quickly scan QR Code stickers on the boxes. This ensures which product is being depalletized.

The +University of Michigan has started a trend in #robotics  learning with The Michigan Engineering Zone (dubbed, "The MEZ").

#STEM   #education
An increasing number of students from Michigan's most financially strapped urban school districts, including Detroit and Flint, are joining robotics teams because local universities are making space and materials available at no charge.
