For many language learners, understanding the English of children can be very challenging because they aren't are so concerned about grammar, they don't slow down because they know that non-native speakers are listening to them, and they have their own unique vocabulary. To hep students practice this unique language, I have created a number of listening activities with children's voices, and you can see a list of these activities here:

Good luck!
I have put together some selected lists to help visitors sort through and find content based on categories. Some conversations appear on multiple lists. Conversations with Children and Teenagers. Enjoying the Zoo (boy, 4); Reading Time (girl, 5); A Fun Day (girl, 5); Christmas is Coming!

Smart phones can be valuable tools for communicating, learning, and carrying out business; however, is it something we can't live without in today's world? Listening to my activity and judge for yourself:

Summer is a time when many students in the US look for part-time job and for some people, babysitting might be option. Now, listen to this conversation and see how some people might take the job to the next level. My daughter does a great job at playing this role in the conversation.

Smart phones: students love them, and some people (including teachers) hate them. However, other teachers find plenty of room for them in the classroom. So, how do we handle the relationship between phones and people? In my newest video activity, I discuss this issue. Enjoy and feel free to share your ideas on the topic:

Randall Davis explains the effects that smart phone use has on social relationships.

Here is one of my favorite listening activities for practicing introductions. Give it a try. So many times, we ask the WRONG questions, and give the WRONG answers.

With summer here, I'd decided to make a new listening activity on travel plans. In this conversation, the man (me) is SOOOO boring when it comes to planning his vacation. The woman (my wife), on the other hand, has some great and exciting. Check it out. What type of person would you rather travel with in this situation?

Announcing my newest listening activity . . . and certainly one of my new favorites. In the conversation, my wife and I go fishing, and she shows me up and humbles me to the core. Give it a try:

Over the years, I have seen some wild drivers in many different parts of the world, and people sometimes drive as if there weren't any speed limits at all. Sound familiar? In my newest video activity, I talk about speed limits where I live to save you the trouble of getting a speed ticket.
What are the speed limits in your country? Please share your ideas.
