I remember meeting Alan Vega backstage at the Locomotive in Paris. We were sitting on the same sofa and started to talk, we could have talk about music, but because the next Suicide date was in Reims the long conversation evolved towards the cathedral of Reims and gothic architecture versus roman architecture and the museums Alan tried to visit every time he was on tour in Europe. Alan Vega was a very nice person. So long.

Meet the inventors of Electro Punk! Metal Urbain returns with their debut single “Panik”, a limited edition 7-inch re-issue on Alternative Tentacles. This highly anticipated re-issue “Panik” was originally released in France in May, 1977 and is now available in the U.S. for the first time exclusively on Record Store Day!
In Austin Texas, July 2015, Metal Urbain performed two reunion shows, sharing the bill with Jello Biafra for Storm the Bastille and the stage for the encore and the agreement to re-issue the classic single “Panik” with Alternative Tentacles was made. And that’s not all!
“Panik” is the first of several other re-issues of Metal Urbain to come. Their back catalogue, including albums never released in the U.S., will be made available both in vinyl, CD and digital later this year. New material recorded in Paris and in Austin in 2016 will be added to the album “Crève Salope”, and the album “J’irai chier dans ton vomi” produced by Jello Biafra will be re-mastered by Eric Debris and released with the original cover which was rejected by the French record company. A US tour is also in preparation.
