Bridge has been in the headlines again recently, with several reports on the case involving the EBU, Sport England, and whether ‘bridge is a sport’. For more information, see the article, which also contains several links to national media outlets.
What do you think? Is bridge a sport?

This isn't quite so useful in the age of the duplimate machine, but it could be interesting for some bridge clubs out there. Thanks +Numberphile!

How Can I Help You?
To help club TDs with some of the more commonly occurring situations where they might be called we have produced a series of videos.
How Can I Help You? covers six topics, such as a revoke and an insufficient bid. We hope you find them useful.

England Women win European Silver!
After a very exciting final match, where the lead changed hands and any of four teams could have taken the three medals on offer, England came away with silver. They beat Norway by a comfortable margin, but The Netherlands, in a match that came down to the final board, managed to beat Estonia by enough to move clear. France finished third, narrowly ahead of Italy.
Congratulations to all the team, in the photo below from left to right: Catherine Draper, Derek Patterson (NPC), Heather Dhondy, Nevena Senior, Sally Brock, Fiona Brown, Nicola Smith and David Burn (coach).

Michael made a documentary about how we deal boards for tournaments. It's a little dry, but it gets to the nuts and bolts of what we do around here.
Hey, look, I made a serious informational video about how boards are dealt at the EBU.

This caps a remarkable tournament for England, the first country since 1995 to win medals in all three categories.
Winners photo, from left to right: Tony Forrester (hiding), Ben Green (coach), Andrew Robson (behind), Justin Hackett, David Gold, Jason Hackett, Simon Cope (NPC) and David Bakhshi.

England Seniors win European Gold!
The England Seniors team have won a gold medal at the European Championships in Opatija, Croatia. The team dominated the final round robin after a shaky first match, winning 8 matches in a row and finishing up 12 VPs clear of silver medalists Sweden. Poland were third. This is England's first medal in this event and it also means they now qualify for the World Championships in Chennai next year, an event they won in 2009.
