University Medical Center of El Paso Board of Managers has scheduled three meetings in the next two weeks to discuss its legal options and contractual agreements with El Paso Children's Hospital.

However, officials with both hospitals did not want to say whether negotiations between both hospitals may come to an end soon.

AUSTIN >> Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick on Tuesday made a bid to keep the National Guard at the border, but not every state leader seemed to like the idea.

Meanwhile, the director of the Department of Public Safety, Steve McCraw, told El Paso leaders that the border city is safe and doesn't need a surge of law enforcement.

In the basement, an arrow was painted on a wall, pointing to where the body was found. The words "Death A Waits" also were painted on a wall, said a person who was at the scene but asked not to be identified.

Coach Sean Kugler made a number of bold promises when he arrived 18 months ago to take the reins of the UTEP football program. They were roundly ambitious, but perhaps the one that aroused the most skepticism was when Kugler said he was going to take the recruiting of El Paso players to a new level.
