And at Last a Distraction
Yes, we are still (partially) buried in snow, but now instead of being up to our eyeballs we are just up to our butts. I suspect the residents of Boston are still mighty discontented, the more so since we will be getting more snow tonight, but at least here...

First Sweater
I have finally finished my first sweater! Last year I took my Christmas money and made the leap into sweater knitting. I had been hemming and hawing about it but at last saw the sweater I needed to have. It's Little Wave , by Gudrun Johnston. Never mind tha...

We were in Barnes and Noble, Mr. 9 and I. We hadn't had an adventure together for quite a while; the bookstore was his destination of choice. He knows it makes me happy, and that fit right in with his plan to purchase a new Wimpy Kid book (for his big brother) and his own copy of the book he's ...

Still Slogging On
We are still buried in snow, with more coming. Boston has had about 40" in the last 10 days and we are not far behind. Our roads are mostly clear, and if the right lanes are still deep in snow the center lanes are at least open for business. I am only watch...

It's the first week of the new year and I am just doing a quick drive by post for a reference of how I am doing so far. I have not bought any cookies, but a friend and I went out for lunch today and we did split a very chocolaty desert. When I came home fro...

New Year's Revolutions
Every year, like everyone else, I make plans for the New Year. Here are mine for 2015: The two chubby girls who share this house will be turning to fewer calories and more exercise after a last hurrah of fancy French food at Bleu . Bring on the butter! We'l...

Finished With Your Wrapping Yet?
Most of us are already rat holing any gift bags we receive for reuse, but maybe yours are at last too shabby to use again or the wrong size. You don't need to make a special trip back to the store for another spendy gift bag, all you need is some medium wei...

We made our reservation on the recommendation of a friend who had vacationed there for many years. I was disappointed in the size of our campsite, but otherwise would recommend the campground. The game rooms are roomy and pleasant, and the shower and toilet facilities clean (checked by management several times per day) and convenient. Free wifi is available, the camp store is well stocked and reasonably priced by campground standards, and the sites make up for their size by having electricity and water available at each site. It is not a "party" campground. Things quiet down very early and stay that way all night. I appreciate this because we are tent campers, and adults who are camping for the quiet. I would have liked to have seen and heard more wildlife, but the more primitive conditions of a campground where this is possible were not to my taste on this trip. Lots of kids - a good family destination.
