Photographer Kate Parker doesn't want her daughters, Alice, 6, and Ella, 9, to be what society expects them to be. If they don't want to parade around in princess dresses, they don't have to. She

what a great idea!

Swedish auction company Göteborgs Auktionsverk found a novel way of finding valuable antiques for its auctions. It got an antiques expert to scan Hemnet.se, Sweden's version of Craiglist, for properties for sale, then zoomed in on antiques that looked interesting. When he found something, agency Milk downloaded the image, circled the interesting item, put it on a postcard and sent it to the homeowners, asking if they wanted to sell more than just their house.

maybe the applesauce (without added sugar) and the chocolate (if it is 85% or higher cocoa) is ok from this recipe, the rest ..... I wouldn't use baking powder and soda, the 2 kind of sugars(?), wheat flour -probably white flour... no, thanks. Sorry, I skip this cookie.

This Girl Can celebrates the women who are doing their thing no matter how they do it, how they look or even how sweaty they get. They’re here to inspire us to wiggle, jiggle, move and prove that judgement is a barrier that can be overcome.

When I'm stoned its funny to look at peoples SHAPES. You can really see how people are attracted to shape as well as looks. And when you see a babies shape it's funny it's so tiny.

I always thought of photography as a naughty thing to do - that was one of my favorite things about it, and when I first did it, I felt very perverse.  ~Diane Arbus

Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats.  ~Diane Arbus

I never have taken a picture I’ve intended. They’re always better or worse. ~ Diane Arbus

ok. it's a given. i am enchanted by diane arbus.

Dr Iannis to Pelagia, his daughter.

"And another thing. Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day. It is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. It is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No… don’t blush. I am telling you some truths. That is just being ‘in love’, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two. […] Doesn’t sound very exciting, does it? Trust me, it is."
