The latest +DJI Story is called "Live Broadcast From a Volcano," and is the behind-the-scenes video from our live volcano flight with Good Morning America and Ginger Zee. It features Ferdinand / Skynamic and me flying Inspire 1 units over an Icelandic volcano in the winter, and what it took to pull the expedition off. We also had prototype Phantom 3 units with us, and took advantage of the trip to capture 4K footage for the Phantom 3 launch videos you might have seen.

I'm enjoying playing around with the Ricoh Theta m15 spherical camera. I attached it to a DJI Inspire 1 quadcopter this morning and went on a flight near the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay! Click through to the theta360 image for a full, interactive version.

The most enjoyable interview I've done was with Nico Pitney from Huffington Post. It's just about life.

Any NBC Press:Here fans? I was on it this morning, talking about ‪#drone‬ regulation. The topic was very timely, as the FAA's NPRM (Notice of Proposed Rulemaking) dropped for small UAS / drones, this morning. The best way to follow what is going on today re: NPRM is via Twitter: https://twitter.com/search?q=%23nprm&src=typd

Screengrab from a video of +Ferdinand Wolf and me flying #DJI #inspire1  quadcopters over the Holuhraun volcano eruption in Iceland for Good Morning America last week (broadcasting live from the Inspire 1 HD FPV feed). It looks so sci-fi fake! This was from a rehearsal flight the day before the broadcast. #gma #abc

Trey and Kai take the Inspire 1 out for a spin in Hong Kong! Trey is giving away an Inspire 1 on the DigitalRev website: http://bit.ly/DJIinspire (leave a comment there prefixed with "I would like Trey's drone and this is what I want to do with it:")
Flying a Quadcopter with Kai on DigitalRev! Just comment to win a free one!

This was a really fun show with +Kai Man Wong and +DigitalRev in Hong Kong a few days ago. I was quite worried that Kai would fly the quad right into our crotches, but he had sweet nerves of steel! Haha this was so fun… Kai is a really great guy and his whole team there was just fantastic!

After this show, I went back over and flew the quad all over the other part of Hong Kong too and got a ton of photos… so fun :) I absolutely love using the camera on there, the incredible fine control you have to aim the camera exactly how you want… like XBox-Controller Photography!

Strangely, one of my favorite pictures of the Holuhraun eruption from the Good Morning America volcano trip was one I took out of the truck window while driving towards it. This was our first view of the Holuhraun volcano eruption on a field of snow during winter in Iceland.

Hello, everyone! We (DJI) has just returned (to the remote hut where we are staying) from making history with Good Morning America. We took meteorologist Ginger Zee on a tour of the inside of the erupting volcano at Holuhraun (in the Bardarbunga volcanic system in Iceland) using two Inspire 1 quadcopters, broadcasting live to the GMA audience in HD video via integrated Lightbridge connections. Both Inspire 1 units were completely stock, and pilots Eric Cheng (DJI's Director of Aerial Imaging—who is writing this post) and Ferdinand Wolf (Skynamic) were impressed by the Inspire 1's ability to weather harsh conditions. A total of 12 flights were made over the volcano in snow, -10C temperatures, and winds as high as 30 knots. Once the cold and wind were conquered, the Inspire 1 units had to endure the incredible heat coming from the eruption and large lava lake! Both Inspire 1 units had melted frames when returning from flights, and kept working perfectly.

What an adventure, and the perfect field test of the Inspire 1 in incredibly-harsh conditions!

Super excited to see "Racing Extinction," when it comes out. +Shawn Heinrichs is one of the team members in the movie, and some of my footage is in it. Wish I could see the premiere at Sundance!
