Each year, the award is given to at most two fresh researchers having outstanding papers in the fields of Matrix Analysis, Functional Analysis, Operator Theory and Harmonic Analysis. The candidates should be either current PhD students or persons who finished their PhD program within four years.
The evaluation is based on
(i) the quality of journals in which the candidates publish their papers (using the MCQ's in MathSciNet),
(ii) a comparative ranking of 5 papers (one main and 4 other selected papers) of each of candidates.
