#DARPA's #MindControlled Arm Will Make You Wish You Were a #Cyborg
When I asked Johnny Matheny if I could shake his hand, I was admittedly a little nervous. The soft-spoken Floridian lost his lower left arm to cancer eight years back. His new arm—an advanced, mind-controlled prosthetic developed by DARPA—can crush a human human skull like a child squeezing a clementine.

Fake Skinned #Robot Bats Will Soon Be Creeping Us Out From the Skies Above #3Dprinting
Researchers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign think mimicking nature is the best way to help robots take flight. So with the help of a 3D printer they’ve created a flying robotic bat complete with a layer of fake silicone skin for the wing’s membranes. It somehow manages to make real bats look almost cute in comparison.

#Electronic material self-heals and functions even after being cut in half
The more circuits and connectors flex, the higher the likelihood they'll break. While we've seen self-healing chips, gels and microcapsules before, a new material out of Pennsylvania State University brings auto-repair to dielectrics – the materials that insulate electric currents.

Digi-Key Electronics, Worldwide Distributor of Electronic Components
Introduction

Digi-Key Electronics got its start in 1972 when Dr. Ron Stordahl, a young electrical engineer working toward his doctoral degree, had the idea to package electronic parts in small quantities and market them to fellow electronics enthusiasts. With a modest inventory, Stordahl's marketing plan comprised advertising Digi-Key's one-page, typewritten and mimeographed "catalog" in publications geared toward hobbyists. A simple business principle was the foundation of his fledgling business – to provide customers the best possible service.

Today, Digi-Key is one of the fastest growing distributors of electronic components in the world. We continue to operate on the premise of providing our customers with superior service, focusing on the key areas of product selection, product availability, on-time delivery, and responsiveness.
