Happy Birthday +Denver Museum of Nature & Science! The Museum was officially incorporated on the 6th of December, 1900, so this weekend saw us celebrate our 115th birthday!

Here is a copy of the Articles of Incorporation, or the Museum’s "birth certificate"!

Back then the Museum was known as the Colorado Museum of Natural History, and there would be no physical building that would be open to the public until July 1, 1908.

Have you seen the latest images from NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft? They have scientists stunned – not only for their breathtaking views of Pluto’s majestic icy mountains, streams of frozen nitrogen and haunting low-lying hazes, but also for their strangely familiar, arctic look.

This new view of Pluto’s crescent offers a look across Plutonian landscapes with dramatic backlighting from the sun. It spectacularly highlights Pluto’s varied terrains and extended atmosphere. The scene measures 780 miles (1,250 kilometers) across.
