After beating cancer, Rick Abramson, Delaware North's recently-appointed Chief Operating Officer, is back tasting all the dishes the company's chefs are cooking up.

“This is a remarkable story in every way,” said former +MLB commissioner Bud Selig. “I guess in the end, I’m not surprised. I’m as proud of him as could be and very grateful that he has successfully battled his health issues.”

The EPA New England recognized +Charlie Jacobs, CEO for Delaware North's Boston Holdings, and the +Boston Bruins as they "have worked to protect or improve the region’s environment in distinct ways," and were given The Environmental Merit Award.

"Through the passionate and patient hand of Boston Bruins CEO Charlie Jacobs, more than 100,000 hungry Bostonians have been fed from food generated during games at the TD Garden. Under Jacobs' leadership, the Bruins and Garden joined the +Rock and Wrap It Up! program to avoid wasting food that could feed the hungry."

The Sustainable Travel International unveiled an industrywide campaign, 10 Million Better. The 10-year initiative consists of leading tourism corporations (including Delaware North), organizations and destinations around the globe – with the goal of tracking and demonstrating improvements in the lives of at least 10 million people and their families by 2025. Improvements to be monitored include growth of income and opportunity, and better protection of destinations’ natural, cultural and heritage sites.

“Collectively, our industry has the power to influence the protection of the environment, promotion of economic equality and preservation of the social well-being and cultural traditions of communities around the globe,” said Delaware North co-CEO +Jerry Jacobs Jr., also a member of the United States Travel and Tourism Advisory Board. “Not only do we believe that acting responsibly on behalf of the environment and communities is the right way forward, from our perspective it’s the only way forward. We’re wholly committed to ensuring travel and tourism continues to do better by our world.”

+Jeremy Jacobs, chairman of Delaware North , today announced that his sons +Lou Jacobs and +Jerry Jacobs Jr. have been named co-chief executive officers of Delaware North in Buffalo, NY,  and that +Charlie Jacobs was named chief executive officer of Delaware North's Boston holdings. The tour highlights the building's unique structure and views, as well as its state-of-the-art hotel, dining, and retail space.

The $400k upgrade to the John Muir Lodge in +Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park is environmentally friendly thanks to GreenPath, Delaware North's environmental management program.

Much of the furniture in the rooms is crafted from reclaimed wood or from sustainably-sourced hickory saplings that would not grow healthily in nature. The fabrics used were also handpicked from an environmentally dedicated vendor.
