One of the worst hotel experiences I've had. Beds are awful, rooms have no sound barriers so you hear everything, nobody really there offering customer service at night, even the smallest things like operating the elevator are made difficult. The Dana is trying to go for some fancy boutique thing and simply forgot to worry about comfort and convenience. There are much better choices for a downtown stay!!!!

Nice hotel, rooms are pretty cool. I was not impressed with the service though. My best friend came home from her 5th deployment overseas and hadn't been to her home city in over a decade. We thought it would be nice to spend the night downtown. She had only 2 days in the city and we spent nearly an hour at check in even though the room was previously booked. I had asked for the best available room with a decent view and explained the situation upon booking. I know, everyone does. And I expected the cost to increase. I was promised a free upgrade for her being military. But a guest next to me who hadn't previously booked came in and flashed a large wad of cash and came with half a dozen loud and obnoxious women and 2 very thug looking men. They ended up on floor 20. However, we were on the 6th floor and a parking lot view. Not cool. Our patio was covered in cigarette butts, gross. And the shower drain was not cleaned because the previous guest clearly had very long dark hair. Disgusting. Then, we left for dinner and returned to head up for the sky lounge. We ended up in about a twenty minute battle with a super stuffed elevator that would not open on the lounge floor. We ordered bottle service and waited quite a while for it, only to be told (once we finally got our bottle) that we couldn't go on the deck because it closes at midnight. It was 11:50. We were surrounded by two groups of people. The thugs on floor 20, and a group of girls who might have been in high school still. Then when we brought the bottle back to our room it was escorted by one of the hotel staff who practically invited himself back to party with us. Ignorant. But we did have a great weekend despite the shortcomings of service. The spa wasn't open on a Saturday which seemed odd. The restaurant downstairs was awesome. We were given a complimentary breakfast and bloody mary. I think it comes with the cost of the room, but either way it was nice. I would try this place again in hopes of a better experience. The location is prime, and the potential is definitely there.

Very nice, clean and very upscale hotel! Had wine and snacks in room that were reasonably priced! Excellent bathrooms and very comfy bed! I highly recommend for couples and business people. I enjoyed my stay!

Beautiful hotel with "different" decor. For example, our room had a floor to ceiling window between the room and the shower and had curtain on the OUTSIDE. This is great if you're an exhibitionist or if you want to have your own personal show. In the city, noise is always an issue. The lower levels have more street noise and the higher levels have music that can be heard from Vertigo Sky Lounge, the night club on the top floor. Bring earplugs and request a room in the middle floors to avoid the thumping of the music until 2 AM. Doormen were awesome in helping with luggage and getting cabs. The Concierge gave great tips on where to go and eat and even had some coupons. Beds were very comfortable and you could not hear any noises from your neighbors TV. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Chicago!

Absolutely loved staying at this hotel. We stayed in the corner king room which has floor to ceiling windows on both sides and provided beautiful views of the city. I was surprised at how many people had negative reviews regarding the customer service/staff at the hotel. Our experience with the hotel staff was extremely positive. They responded very quickly to all of our requests and someone was always at the entrance to open the door and greet me with a smile along with a friendly "Have a nice day". Great experience, I would stay there again without hesitation!!

THE SERVICE AT NIGHT IS AWFUL I MEAN RIDICULOUS STANDING AROUND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ALL THE ROOMS ARE GREAT FOR CHICAGO DOWNTOWN ANYWAY VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING .SO UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND PEOPLE (SERVICE STAFF) NOT PROVIDING NOTHING BUT THE BEST YOUR IN THE RIGHT PLACE .WHAT A SHAME INCONSISTENCY AROUND THE HOTEL WAS TO MUCH ...LISTEN UP MANAGERS GET BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD ..

My overall experience at the Dana Hotel last weekend was not good to say the least. The hotel itself is a nice boutique style place with decent size rooms. However, my issue is with the staff and management. I was staying there on Saturday night for a wedding that was up the street. After the wedding we returned to the lobby bar with a small group from the wedding. When we got to the bar I opened a tab for my wife and I with one of the servers. Within (5) minutes of being there and prior to receiving the drinks that I had just ordered I was greeted by a woman telling me that her staff had lost my credit card. In total disbelief I told her that I think she had the wrong person that I had just walked in. She said I was wrong and the server had pointed me out. I asked her to call over the server and he in fact confirmed that he lost my credit card. As to not make a scene I said I’m sure it will show up sooner than later and continued to enjoy myself. After about an hour or so I asked the server if my card showed up and he said it hadn’t. I asked him if he could have the woman who I’m assuming was the manager come over. When she came back she seemed extremely annoyed and said to me “you guys came in with a big group all the sudden”, “everyone opened separate tabs”, “what do you expect”, “we lose credit cards all the time”. To my shock I couldn't believe that a bar had issues with any of that or experienced the loss of credit cards so often. I explained to her the lost credit card was the one on file with the hotel so she would need to notify the hotel that I am going to cancel my card. I then explained to her that I had no other form of payment for my tab and would need to figure that out as well. She rolled her eyes and stomped away. Five minutes later I’m greeted by the front office supervisor and a member of security. I explain what happened to him and he agrees the situation seems out of place. I also explain to him that this card is linked to several other cards with the same number and that canceling mine isn't a big deal however, it is going to affect all of the other card holders. Based on that situation it wasn't possible for me to cancel the card until the morning. I gave him my information and he said that he would call me. The next morning I check online and there is no activity on the card. I check with the front desk and security to no avail. I contact all of the other card holders and let them know that I have to cancel the card. As I’m sure you know this is an undertaking in itself. I have to reissue all of the cards, redo all of the auto transactions, update all the mobile application (uber, goggle wallet, etc), not to mention all of the online websites. (amazon, etc) After all of this I received a call on Tuesday from the same gentleman that I met on Saturday night telling me that they found my card. In the meantime I left (2) messages with GM and yet to receive a call back. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and been to my share of bars/restaurants and never have had them lose my credit card. Something seems off, almost like they were trying to steal it and got caught. It’s very strange how the whole thing went down and to top it off not even get a call back from the GM. I would stay clear of this place if you don’t want your credit card lost or stolen as it just not worth it!!!

What's really frustrating is I left my north face jacket and 2 shirts in the closet in my room at check out and when I called back nothing was found and the person on the phone sounded as if he knew it wouldn't be found before even checking. Service was ok. Hotel was neat.
