Angiogenesis inhibitors are unlike most cancer therapies in that they don’t directly attack cancer cells in hope of killing them.

"Being able to do something active like surfing was so freeing for me, and I don’t think I would have been as comfortable doing it at this stage in my treatment if I hadn’t been with a group of people who also have cancer and “got it.”"

PARPs (or Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerases) are proteins that play an important role in the life of a cell. When a strand of the DNA double helix is broken or damaged, PARPs act as a repair crew to help fix the damaged site, allowing the cell to live.

Everyone you encounter at DFCI is supper polite and helpful with anything you need! The two doctors we encounter are top notch and all of the nursing and aide staff are friendly and sensitive to one's needs.

We went here for my father's cancer treatment. The level of personal attention and detail is amazing, we've never had doctors care as much as these doctors did. Thank you!

My experience at Dana Farber was one of the greatest I've ever had. Having DCIS and most of all hearing that I had it was sooooo scary. I love my doctor, Dr. Overmoyer. Most of all I love the loving care and concern that is present the moment you walk through the doors. I come here once a year for a check-up. I know that I have the best of care and may God bless all of the wonderful doctors who save peoples lives everyday here.
