Is the Amazon Kindle Fire an iPad killer? not if they don't address the devices short comings. Having both the Fire and an iPad I think the Fire comes up short in several areas. Storage is the big one, but for the price I really can't complain. The other is that it is only available in 7in, and again, for the price who could argue.

My hope is that a second generation Fire might address some issues if the device had a micro SD slot that would address the storage issue, and if they offered a 10 inch model that would address my other worry.

I know a lot of people have been all over Amazon for not offering 3G, I don't see this as being an issue. I mostly always use my tablet when I am some place that has WiFi. I can see where people who travel a lot would want 3G and how this could be a real shortcoming for them, I just don't fall into this category.

At the end of the day, the Fire is a great deal and a pretty good tablet. I got one for my son, and while I was setting it up for him I took my time to play around, and I really was impressed with what it could do for only costing $200. I am excited to see what the next generation will be. #Amazon #Fire #Tablet
