Crowley’s Cuba Express team in Miami is off to a great start for 2019, by helping South Florida shippers send gift parcels and other approved cargo to the island country. Here, Osmani Dorta handles a shipment of durable items destined for a resident in Santiago de Cuba. Once the items were shipped to Cuba, Crowley arranged for the goods to be delivered to the recipient’s door. Jensen Maritime, our Seattle-based naval architecture and marine engineering company has provided the design for Shaver Transportation Company’s new Z-drive tug, Samantha S, which was built at Diversified Marine Inc., in Portland, Ore., for operation along the West Coast. The 112-foot by 44-foot tug has a 22-foot draft, was built for escort, ocean towing and ship assist, and has firefighting capabilities. Her large, flat bow allows her to come up flat against the transom of ocean-going ships in the Columbia River.
