“I didn’t choose cake decorating, cake decorating chose me.” Those simple but heartfelt words from Yolande Modica sum up her journey to become known as the Cake Boss of Newfoundland. Yolande is a graduate of both the cooking and baking programs and believes her time at CNA provided a solid foundation to start her business.
“You can build the biggest, most beautiful house in the neighbourhood but it will just crumble if doesn’t have a solid foundation. School definitely prepared me for what I’m doing now. They provide you with a solid foundation – but what you do with it is up to you.”
Seats are still available for the Cook and Baker programs. #applytoday #collegeofthenorthatlantic #futureCNAgrad #cook #baking #culinaryarts #cakebossofnewfoundland

CNA's Dr. Gurinder Kaur Ahluwalia became a first-time author in November 2016, not because she had aspirations of writing a book, rather the scientific community was eager for more information on the subject matter – the applications of chalcogenides S, Se and Te. Read more at goo.gl/GXywRh

Someone to lean on
It takes a special type of person to work in the medical field, just ask Garrett Slaney.
Even at age 18, Slaney knew he wanted to help people through a career in the health care field, going so far as enrolling into the Bachelor of Kinesiology program at Memorial University in St. John’s. But in the end he discovered it wasn’t the right fit. Fast forward 10 years, and Slaney finally found his calling through the Rehabilitation Assistant program at College of the North Atlantic.
