Taking the clipper is a fun experience. The environment to Victoria and back to Seattle was always clean. Plus the staff was more than helpful. I will definitely keep the Clipper in mind for future vacations.

On the evening of October 10, 2015 the captain made a last minute decision to cancel the evening trip from Victoria to Seattle (return trip for us) due to gale force winds. The staff and crew quickly responded by putting together an alternate plan to get all passengfers back to Seattle via alternate ferries and ground transportation. I was astonished at how quickly and efficiently they organized us into groups and utilized busses and much larger alternate ferries to move us first to Port Angeles, and then Bainbridge Island for our return trip. Without their committment to safety and getting us back to Seattle, we would have missed our flight the next morning. The staff were excellent and even provided us with vouchers to cover our evening meals. I do not believe under the conditions they had an obligation to get us home but they stepped up and made it happen. Customer service beyond my expectations. A giant thanks to all the staff and crew for pulling it together in some very tough circumstances.

Not what we expected. It was an airplane on water. Service was poor. Seats sucked. Luckily we were able to sit together but there were several groups who werent able to. On the way to Victoria we had no issues with my carry on. On the way back to Seattle they made us check it. Food was over priced and gross. I'm not sure if you could even go outside. If you could, we never found it. Will not do this again. but loved Victoria and plan to visit again.

A wonderful service for Puget Sound travel and more. We live in Seattle, literally overlooking the Clipper pier. Over the years, we have taken many trips on the Victoria Clipper to BC's charming provincial capitol. For us, because of the Clipper, it's easier to get to Victoria than it is to drive to Bellevue. When taking the Clipper. be aware this is transportation along a very weather influenced water route. It is not a harbor tour, it's not a Carnival cruise, it is reliable transportation along a demanding route. The Clipper boats are designed to weather the passage in all but the most extreme conditions. For much of the year, those conditions would make being on an open deck a very poor life choice. Even in the 6 weeks of sunny weather we enjoy here, on deck on Puget Sound at the Clipper's cruising speed is an excersize in avoiding hypothermia, or having your loose posessions blown overboard. In deference to boat efficiency, and an effort to keep neophyte mariners from Moline intact, the boats are a closed design. The passage north on Puget Sound is frequently not especially scenic. The misty marine environment, low islands, and often grey water do not always offer Kodak moments. If one is fortunate, the Olympic or Cascade mountains may be visible in the distance. Marine life may be evident. The sun may be shining. But don't count on any of it. If you want in intimate seafaring experience on Puget Sound, learn to sail and charter a sailboat. If you want a convenient way to get to Victoria or Friday Harbor for a day trip or longer getaway, the Clipper is the way to go. On our many trips on the Clipper, most have been uneventful, but not all. Pounding seas have made Dramamine an excellent suppliment. In all my decades of sailing Puget Sound in all conditions at the helm of my own boat, I have never once been seasick. On the Clipper, in weather especialy, Dramamine is a wise prophylactic. One weekend in Victoria, a sudden, potentially violent storm front brewed up in the Pacific. As a precaution, the Clipper decided to sail for Seattle at noon. rather that the late afternoon schedule. The customer service folks left messages at our hotel (we left early to go hiking) and made repeated calls to our home and cell phones. At 10, I picked up the message. At noon we were heading south ahead of the storm. They gave us discount coupons for future travel, discounts on concessions, and discounts at the store. They got us home safely and comfortably. Don't know what else we could have asked for. No travel agency is perfect. No travel deal without some strings. Its the nature of the beast, and don't get me started on my peeves with Expedia (spawn of the Devil), or Priceline (sister of the spawn of the Devil.) I have used Clipper Vacations in the past to arrange travel that I just didn't want to spend the time and effort doing myself. One trip was Clipper to Victoria, hotel stay (Empress, our request), sea plane to Vancouver, 5 star hotel, Amtrak to Seattle, including all transfers. Not only did they arrange everything, call us with updates and refinements to our itinerary, they saved me about $200.00 over the best prices I could arrange on my own (and I'm really good at chiseling out great travel deals.) In all, I'm a satisfied Clipper customer of many years standing. and do not hesitate to recommend them for the services they offer.

This is for the Leavenworth trip. Hello, On Saturday December 12th my husband and I boarded the Bus 658 at Mount Lake Terrace High School headed to Leavenworth. Our trip was one of the most disappointing and exhausting situations and has lead me to reach out because of it. We broke down on the way to Leavenworth, we were told we would arrive before noon and we didn't arrive until 2PM. Leaving at 5:30 means our time was extremely cut short and ruined the experience I wanted for us. On the way back we broke down more than once, everyone in our bus was upset and we were all questioning if the bus was safe. I believed beyond a doubt this was a safe choice before, now I feel it was beyond unreasonable to have us on a bus that was not running properly. On the way home it lost power more than once. I am going to send this and hope for a response with a refund. UPDATE: After calling and being told they are looking into it, I was told to "Wait it out and they will respond if there's anything they can offer me eventually". Unacceptable. I'll be contacting Kiro about the safety situation on the buses and the BBB about the dodgy tactics.

This is a good way to entertain out of town guests. Boat leaves from downtown which makes it easy and the trip up to the San Juans and back is really scenic. There's a two hour stop on San Juan Island which is about the right amount of time for exploring there. The whales, of course, were the real stars and the naturalist was helpful. One tip, if you are going to have lunch on San Juan Island, go right when you get there as the restaurants fill up. Or just use the time to explore and buy your lunch on the boat.

Reservations were not valid when checking in, even though we received a confirmation via email. This happened in three hotels during one vacation. We were close to being on the street due to the hotel being fully booked one night. Absolutely the worst, don't book through them.
