During April, Ellis Island will be displaying 13 art quilts created to celebrate the centennial of the National Park Service.
The quilts were created by Fiber Works, a group of textile artists from the Lincoln-Omaha, Nebraska area. The artists were inspired by their favorite national park site. The quilts are on a year-long tour of the 13 chosen parks.
The Exhibit will be open April 1-27, 2016 at Ellis Island museum.

Do dinosaurs still live among us? A new exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History lays out the case for the evolutionary links between dinosaurs and birds.

Some shared attributes include nesting behavior, brain and bone structure, and the feathers that started as rude, spiky projections and developed into the sleek shaft-and-filament feather of the modern bird.

If you go, look for the Yutyrannus huali, who sports a shaggy coat of proto-feathers and was discovered in northeastern China in 2012. Its name translates to “beautiful feathered tyrant.” Weighing 1.5 tons, it was a fearsome predator like its relative T. rex.

“Dinosaurs Among Us” runs through Jan. 2 at AMNH.

When Steve Martin first discovered the work of pioneering modernist, Lawren Harris, he initially thought he had discovered an unknown, not knowing Harris was already Canada's most important artist.
“Here’s an artist who is national, but deserves to be international. He’s not telling the story of landscape—he’s taken it to another level of the metaphysics of landscape,” Martin says.
A new exhibit at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston has been guest curated by collector, actor, writer and musician Steve Martin and features scenes of an evocative northland, isolated peaks and vast expanses.
"The Idea of North" is on view through June 12.

Tulips. Lots and lots of tulips mean spring is definitely in the air at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. The award-winning Dallas Blooms Festival runs through April 10. This year there are 100 kinds of spring bulbs, totaling 500,000 blooms, like daffodils, hyacinths, pansies, and poppies.

The garden changes throughout the festival and this year features eight bronze, life-size sculptures of “Great Contributors,” like Shakespeare, Mark Twain and Benjamin Franklin. Throughout the garden, these greats can be found on benches, perfect for photo ops. Every Saturday during the festival, there will be story times at each bench relating to the man who is depicted.
