Leave the fireworks to the professionals! Fireworks are illegal in San Jose, and now higher fines for fireworks-related violations are in effect. The fines are now $500 for a first violation, $700 for a second violation, and $1,000 for a third violation.

Code enforcement officers, park rangers, and some fire officials can issue these administrative fines to anyone who sells, uses, possesses or stores illegal fireworks.

The City of San José fireworks ban applies to all types of fireworks. Illegal fireworks not only include large bottle rockets, roman candles, and firecrackers but also the popular ‘sparklers,’ usually reserved for younger children.

The City Council approved the higher fines on April 12, along with a pilot program that will beef up fireworks enforcement efforts in neighborhoods and parks. The pilot will take place from Friday, July 1, through Tuesday, July 5, when illegal fireworks activity typically increases over the Independence Day holiday weekend.

The public is encouraged to celebrate safely by enjoying fireworks at large public displays that are permitted and run by professional pyrotechnicians.

The city needs to stop worrying about these distractions and focus their efforts on doing something about the housing crisis, trash problem, and the working homeless problem in our city. They should be ashamed to ignore the real issues that our facing our communities.

ALERT: Because of the elevated levels of cyanobacteria, a toxic blue-green algae
recently found at Almaden Lake and Lake Cunningham Parks in San José, both lake areas have been closed to all water activities until further notice by the San José Department of Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services. However, the parks themselves remain open.

While the blue-green algae potentially can cause skin irritation and gastrointestinal issues in humans, it can prove fatal for dogs. Pet owners are highly encouraged to keep their pets away from the water areas at these parks. Read the news release: http://ow.ly/qQJM303ZVxr

Celebrate the Fourth of July safely by attending a permitted professional public fireworks display. For Independence Day celebrations in our area, visit www.sanjoseca.gov/fireworksdisplays.

Fireworks are illegal in San José and most of Santa Clara County. To report illegal fireworks use in San José, an online form is now available through Tuesday, July 5: www.sanjoseca.gov/FormCenter/Report-Illegal-Fireworks-43/Report-Illegal-Fireworks-in-San-Jose-282.

Through the online form, residents are able to attach photos or videos with their report. City staff will review the reports during regular business hours and may issue warnings or citations if sufficient evidence is provided.

Ah, meh. We had a safe 4th, but then Bastille Day showed we are not out of Charlie Alert reason for continuance, but locally, our DA and SJPD collude, to both contempt and sedition, in re RS Mueller III and my facts, complicated and illegally affected, by Co.Santa Clara and City of San Jose collusion, with Wells Fargo SNT Seattle, to simultaneously prevent me from moving, to Santa Cruz, but also to get me either murdered or now stranded, homeless, subjected to SJPD-affected false prosecution, in collusion with the Public Defender, NOW FOR PURGE BY TRIAL.

Like run-ons? NO? Shucks, then don't get me or let me be constantly about to get run down or held up and assaulted.

Or don't we get to have CalBar over, for tea and a party, both? But before it gets here, or the USDOJ, we need D48 to do contempt trials, like in the previous habeas filing, about to get updated, for C1634716, Judge Paul Bernal, for cause.
