Shockingly bad service. They have a rude manager who threw a tantrum at us because we asked them to bring out a cake for my friend's birthday. They also have some confused waiters. They took so long to serve the food and for that price, you expect good service. 16 of us went there for a surprise birthday dinner my friend. My friend's cousin brought a hummingbird birthday cake and the plan was to surprise the birthday girl with it. When we asked the staff to light the candles and bring out the cake, they told us that they would charge us £3.50 per head for that. We were shocked as we've never seen a restaurant charge for this. My friend's cousin had spent £53.50 on the cake so it was ridiculous for us to spend another £56 on it. We asked to speak to the manager. Me and my friend attempted to explain that it was my friend's birthday and we just wanted the night to be nice. He said we would be losing him business as we would not order dessert. His other suggestion was that they would bring out the cake if at least 6 of us order dessert and he also specified that we could not order the cheapest dessert on the menu. Mind you, this restaurant is on the expensive side and on average we had already spent £40 each on our table. I tried to explain this and the benefits of happy customers that would come back and that birthday dinners are a one off. The manager was argumentative and rude. He acted like bringing out that cake would cause them to make a loss and threaten their whole balance sheet and business. He finally snapped at us and waved his hand dismissively that we could have the cake without any charges and he stomped off. I've never anyone in customer service behave like this. This grown man actually threw a tantrum at us - their customers! When the cake was finally brought out we had another shocking disappointment - the waiters had cut the cake in the kitchen! This was a birthday cake that had 'happy birthday *name*' written on it and some confused waiter thought it's appropriate to cut it himself. It's common sense that we wanted the bday girl to see the cake as a whole and with candles on it. They unceremoniously brought it out in slices on small plates. At this stage, we were in a bad mood and no one really ate the cake. We wanted to ask for containers to take it away but we were apprehensive that we would be charged even more. After our conversation with the manager the whole dinner felt like a shakedown not a nice outing. We complained again and the manager did agree to take off £53.50 off the bill but this doesn't rectify ruining a one-off birthday dinner. My friend never got to see what her cake looked like and we spend a lot of time trying to reason with the manager. I can't even comment on the food because the bad service overshadowed everything else.

This is a bit of a modern take on Indian Food and IMHO they should have left it. Original is better and this is not perfect.

Given its reputation we were very excited to visit Cinnamon Kitchen, and unfortunately it rather fell short. It was no way bad, it was just distinctly middle of the road Indian food for a higher price. First rate service though.

Nice restaurant. The starters looked good and tasted fabulous. I ordered chicken byriani as a main. It was fragrant but the rice mix was too wet. My friend really enjoyed the cheese selection and the service was good. I would go back but for the starters alone.

A bit underwhelming, was recommended by a colleague but sadly did not meet my expectations. Starters were very tasty, but monkfish main left a lot to be desired. Nothing that Me and my partner ate here couldn't have been made at home at a fraction of the price and at the same quality.

I just happened upon the Cinnamon Kitchen while walking thru the City. Set within a brick enclosed terrace with the Gherkin visible thru the clear ceiling, outside the CK is a wonderful place to sit for a relaxing lunch. The staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The menu mixes traditional Indian with contemporary flavors and presentation. The various fresh ingredients are combined so they somehow awaken in the mouth with their own distinct flavors intact. Highly recommended for a reasonable and delightful alternative to the usual fare.

We were 8 people on a business lunch. From entering the doorway, and until leaving - we were taken care of 100 % of the time. I must also add that the atrium where the Cinnamon Kitchen has it's restaurant, is a nice place to just stay, nib a bit and drink some. But back to this kitchen. I suggest the Express lunch menu if you are in a hurry. We all had this menu, but choose different meals to combine. There was something for the veggie lover: starter: Punjabi samosa with green pea, mint & raisin, and Main: Spinach dumplings with tomato & fenugreek sauce I tried this as well as the fish, and namnam - they have incredibly tasty food here. The Garlic chicken tikka with smoked paprika raita as a starter was also a success, I could tell in my colleagues eyes. But really, I think there is something for everyone here, even if the menu is selective and kept short. They know a lot about wine, as they should since this was one of the better cellars I have been shown. All in all - I can suggest you give this restaurant a try. Great food under a nice lighting and with kind and professional people taking care of you.

Had been wanting to visit the Cinnamon Club for years, and discovered that we were close to the Cinnamon Kitchen, so booked a table for myself and 7 colleagues. Everything was full of flavors, some familiar, others not so, but all great. All was great!
