Unfortunately, we went on a day where the main restaurant downstairs was closed up so we had beer and snacks upstairs. With that said, I was very impressed by the location, the food and the beverages! Really tasty snacks and entrees. We had poutine, mac & cheese sticks, and many more and all were done quite well. The beer selection is fantastic though I must admit I am not a beer guy but the big group I was with all had amazing things to say about their selection and quality. I look forward to trying it again over a full dinner.

While I have only been here for happy hour they have a very impressive selection of beers. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you choose the beer that is right for you based on your tastes. A great spot to take any beer lover!

(this review for Birch and Barley just below Churchkey) Excellent: service, food, and craft beer. Every experience rewarding. If you visit with some frequency, they'll know you by name.

Fantastic bar. Very relaxed, great bartenders, and clean! I came here with a group of friends on a Sunday night close to 9pm so it wasn't super crowded. They've got a huge selection of drafts, and the bartender was very friendly and made recommendations. From earthy and dry to fruity and bright, there are tons of beers to choose from, and the prices are very reasonable ($2-6 for 4oz and $6-15 for a glass). They also have sparkling, white, red, and rosé wines by the glass and bottles, as well as cocktails and whiskies. And if you've got the munchies, they have tater tots, wings, disco fries, and hot plates of grilled cheese, half-smokes, burgers, and meat pies. Sister establishment downstairs is Birch and Barley. Great atmosphere, very laidback and casual. Bartenders are beer sommeliers/aficionados and can turn any skeptic into an enthusiast. If you're looking for a good bar in DC (with the largest selection of craft beers), ChurchKey is highly recommended.

Beer! Beer beer and more beer! This place has it all when it comes to beer. Well, almost...sometimes they rotate the beer list and they remove the favorite beer of yours...but that's life. The food is probably the only reason I dropped it down a star. This place simply just doesn't cut it when it comes to my choices in food. It's pretty much adult versions of kids foods. Grilled cheese? um...nah, i'm 30 "bro" and I want to eat some real meals. That said, if you're into "flat breads" (pizza where i come from) then they do have some decent ones here. Not outstanding (go to H&Pizza for outstanding) but it'll satisfy you for a bit. Service is always on point. I've never had a server here that sucked. Always friendly, pretty reasonably prompt for the crowds they get, and always knowledgable on the alcohols. Highly suggest you go.

What can be said about churchkey that hasn't been said? Awesome space, good vibe, excellent beer, good value. This place is great every time you go. The menu is diverse enough to be happy every time and the staff is super knowledgeable. This is a classic DC spot that should not be missed.

The pricing is affordable and the selection of beers is outstanding. They have an incredible variety that even the most picky pallets will find a delectable beer. Additionally the grilled cheese is clutch for a late night snack. Seating is tricky and it can get very crowded, but if you play your cards right and stay near the booths, eventually you'll get one.
