I visited Chula Vista on Friday Sept. 4th. We were having a great time until we decided to go to the wave pool. My children can swim and the wave pool isn't that deep there, that and the fact there were two lifeguards and only like 10 kids in the pool, I wasn't too worried about my kids playing in there. My 6 yr old son was on the far end of the pool when the waves kicked in and started struggling to keep his head out of the water. I was keeping a close eye on him, so I was able to run out as fast as I could to get him to safety. He was visibly going under and when his head came out between the waves he was coughing and gasping for air. The lifeguard was no more than 5 feet away from him just staring when this happened??? I was so mad I asked her why she didn't do anything and her reply was "well I was close by" so I asked then why didn't you get him out when he was obviously not doing okay? and she just says sorry. Anyways I reported the incident to security and they took down a report. I have not heard back from anyone and got no apologies at all for the situation except for the worthless lifeguard that works there. We were having such a fun time until that happened and really put a damper on everything. Do not trust their life guards to do their jobs.
