A pretty cool experience. You can feel and see the Christmas spirit at the market. Hot wine with a decorative mug for $7.

It's my Christmas tradition! Some goods are expensive but I got some great finds here. I love the collector's mug and spiced wine(make at home now). Have a mug from 2014 Vancouver, 2015 Vancouver and 2016 Chicago. Don't see roasted pork hock here at the Chicago one though.

So much fun! Lots of different cuisines available. Also lots of handcrafted toys and decorations for sale. Some reasonably priced, others not so much.

Annual festive tradition, gluewein and ornaments and specialty gifts - holiday cheer in downtown. Makes Chicago special to have German style outdoor christkindlmarket.

So cute and quaint. Love the little items they have for sale, authentic from Europe. Great Christmas ornaments! Try the Gluvine (hot spiced wine)!

Not many black people go to Chriskindlmarket. I went a total of three times, three years in a row and experienced a lot of racism. From the people working the market to the visitors. I love the porcelain houses to make a Christmas village with. So I try to go every year to build up my village. But the last time I went the young man at the booth where the little porcelain houses are sold totally ignored me. The year before that I bought one, but the lady that waited on me was kind of mean and nasty. So, in 2016 the Christmas that just passed I didn't go for fear that I may get treated badly. That's so sad because I wanted to purchase another porcelain house for my village. Not to mention, the prices are so high on their merchandise they should be glad that people are happy and excited about coming to Chriskindlmarket. Oh well, so much for being a black lady that likes all kinds of things/cultures from around the world.

Always a good time. Get your warm wine and/or hot chocolate first and then walk around.

A great way to spend a fun evening. Keep in mind that prices for items are a bit on the high/absurd side.
