An organ can mean a bright future for someone who otherwise wouldn’t have one. Nearly 124,000 men, women and children are awaiting organ transplants in the United States, and the need for tissue is steadily rising. April is National Donate Life Month. By registering as an organ, eye or tissue donor and celebrating those who have donated, we bring new hope to many thousands of people.
In 2010, Ray McCoy's kidneys were failing. He was looking for care that wouldn't make him feel like a number, and most of all, he was looking for a hero — or a heroine.
