Samsung sells over 1 million phones per day. Half of which are smartphones today. Soon enough, perhaps already before the end of this year, all of those are going to be smartphones as new low cost ARM Processors such as the ARM Cortex-A5 are bringing down the price of smartphones below $50.

Expect Google to announce Android daily activations above 1 million per day soon enough. I expect the 1 million Android activations per day to be reached and announced before Google I/O.

If Google counted all the non-certified Android devices, that 1 million Android activations per day could already have been announced as I think that has been reached at some point in 2011 already.
