The new Accord is shrouded in mystery... /
It’s the peak of summer in the desert Southwest, which for most people means hiding out from the broiling sun and worshiping at the altar of air-conditioning. Conversely, the heat draws out auto engineers for the annual ritual of hot-weather testing. Where they go, spy photographers follow; so it is that we have these first […]

Be very careful. Unlimited has limits.... with Carfax. Those details are in the fineprint. You can buy "unlimited" reports but what they don't tell you in bold colorful letters (like they do with the advertised price and the words UNLIMITED) is that the unlimited portion applies ONLY to cars with license plates (private sellers). If you need to search by VIN (auction, mom&pop dealership, etc) you only get 5 reports. So, if you are buying from a private seller, it's a good deal. If you are going to be shopping dealerships (small and large) and or consider auctions, don't bother unless 5 is all you are going to need. Really wish companies would stop hiding the important details of a transaction in that fine print or in hyperlinks you have access elsewhere to be informed. It just makes you look shady/untrustworthy. No wonder they only have a 2.5 star rating on Google.

CARFAX saved my bacon... Took my '11 Subaru in to the dealer to have them check out a knocking sound in the engine. They had to tear down the engine to find the problem, which was nearly $1000 before even repairing the problem. To prove the car had been well maintained, and thus make sure the work and parts would be covered under warranty, I needed to show service records. Of course I couldn't find them when I needed them, so instead I got a CARFAX report on my own car. It showed all the maintenance I had done at participating locations, including other Subaru dealers in different parts of the country. With that in hand, Subaru covered the whole repair and parts under the warranty! I've always relied on CARFAX when buying used cars in the past, but super happy that I was able to use it on my own car this time around.

Purchasing a car every few years is a major expense. I've had positive experiences obtaining Carfax reports for preowned cars we've purchased both from people in the general public and from local car dealers. Everytime I buy a car, I feel like I might lose my shirt and make a big mistake. With a Carfax report, I feel better knowing there is no recorded accident history on a potential purchase and I can even see if the car has been professionally maintained. I think it is a great service!

I was utilizing carfax for a dealership and cancelled the service and gave them written request on cancellation. Later on they billed me for the period I have already cancelled the service. Now I want it again and they want me to pay them previous charges we are not supposed to pay. We have all proof available that shows we served the due cancellation notice. Even they turn our account to a collection agency and we forwarded them the cancellation notice and they stop collection calls. Very unethical and deception practices and monopolize service.

One VIN digit went in wrong. It said it would have a report with 8 records. After I paid it took the VIN but will NOT run a report. I sent message and left VM's 4 times Now 5 days and still no report. Customer support is terrible.

I can't get my car fixed because the car I'm driving has been claimed as a Total Loss on my carfax report Insurance told carfax my car was totalled last year. It wasn't. Now they're giving me the hardest time and the run around because no one wants to fix my car. Everyone's waiting on carfax to change the report so I can get back on the road. Customer service SUCKS because it's not their personal problem and don't want to deal with you.

After purchasing Carfax's unlimited report package I was surprised to find that my plan was terminated after 60 days. Having known this I would have never bought from Carfax in the first place. Their service missed many problems with vehicles I have inspected. Both their site usership and refund policies and terms are designed to avoid losing money at all costs. I have tried tirelessly to receive a refund from the company for feeling tricked into buying this; however, they will not budge. For a company that prides themselves on aiding customers make informed decisions, this is a piss poor way of telling people you really do not care. I recommend you take great caution dealing with this company before considering paying for any of their services. Should the need arise I will do my own investigating into a vehicle before using this company's service.
