Racing is as much about the people as it is the river.

Here are the portraits of racers at this year's New Haven Race in Vermont.

What these top athletes documented during their run of Dipper Creek in the Pacific Northwest is pretty cool ... and intense.
This past fall paddlers from the Bellingham and Whistler area waited anxiously for one of their favorite late season runs to come in. Dipper Creek Video

Can't believe it's already been a year since we released this story.

The Powell to Powell video series sought to spread understanding of the ecological issues and threats facing the used and abused Colorado River.

Though a year old, the story still rings true today. #tbt #throwbackthursday

For  #throwbackthursday  we wanted to bring back this bold portrait series of Whitewater Grand Prix athletes.

We see some of the top female paddlers in the world. What do you see?

We've learned the best way to honor a paddling legend is to get on the water.

Calm days on the Canadian Barrens like this one in 1955 were both rare treats and dangerous seductions. A crew of five young men and Arthur Moffatt ventured into the Barrens, and a new memoir is out detailing what happened.

This just in!

Under threatening twilight skies, sea kayaker Aleksander Doba arrived in Port Canaveral, Fla., yesterday at 7:20 p.m., after a 5,400-mile crossing of the Atlantic Ocean that began Oct. 5, 2013 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Running a 60-foot waterfall is impressive. Running it in a canoe and breaking the old record of 20 years?

We just bow to that.

Last November Jim Coffey broke the canoe waterfall record on Mexico's Alseseca River's Truchas Falls. This week the Esprit team released the video.

This #Throwbackthursday we wanted to remember the story of a tragedy that happened a year ago this month and how his comrades honored the best way they could: paddling the river together.

Here's to you Steve. http://bit.ly/P7q8rp
