We did a test run of six-car train sets yesterday. Things went well, although there's still no word on when exactly they will be put into service.

We need to save ac transit's m line. It's gotten so few riders that I could see it being eliminated one day if they need to save money!

Here are the pre-owned rail cars headed to LA's Union Station before coming to us, eventually. Still no exact timeframe, still need to refurb, paint, modify before they can be put into service. But we're excited to see them move, nonetheless. #Caltrain

We are pleased to release our bike bump reporting form. If you get bumped from Caltrain with your bike please use this form to let us know. Your data will be reported to the Bicycle Advisory Committee and may help shape rail operations in the future.

Commuter rail service along the San Francisco Peninusla, through the South Bay to San Jose and Gilroy.
Introduction
The San Mateo County Transit District has worked with San Francisco and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority since the 1980s to save and operate Caltrain, which runs from San Francisco to San Jose/Gilroy. The Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board operates and owns the Caltrain rail corridor and has contracted with the District to be the managing agency.

The Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board is a tri-county board, comprised of nine representatives, three each from San Francisco, San Mateo County Transit District and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority.

The JPB purchased the Caltrain right of way in 1991 and assumed responsibility for operating the service in 1992.
