The fire urchin, Asthenosoma varium, is not something you want to sit on. It makes the perfect refuge and transport for Coleman shrimps, urchin shrimps, and zebra crabs.

YouTube is surprising sometimes. Whichever person recently shared my Mucky Secrets Prologue video and made it go viral amongst 45-64-year-old Taiwanese people, thank you! May the rest of the world follow.

Following my 20-part "Mucky Secrets" YouTube series, I finally uploaded the whole 90-minute documentary in its entirety.

This was shot back in 2007 with my Sony HVR-Z1P HDV camera in a Light & Motion Bluefin HD housing with Light & Motion Elite lights and a flat port. A Century +3.5 diopter was used for the most of the footage. A really antique rig by today's standards, but the footage can look OK with good deinterlacing, colour correction and encoding.

Lembeh's species density and diversity, along with the critter-spotting talents of the dive guides, meant I could capture all this and more in just 29 dives over 9 days. Ridiculous really! Looking forward to spending more time there...

Part 15 of my Mucky Secrets documentary features camouflaged, bottom-dwelling fishes with a nasty sting: demon stingers and waspfishes.

"Mucky Secrets" - THE WHOLE THING!

Following on from the series, here is my full documentary about the fascinating marine life of the Lembeh Strait in Indonesia.

For 90 minutes I explore the amazing range of weird and wonderful creatures that make the Lembeh Strait a hot spot for marine biodiversity and a unique muck diving destination.

A huge amount of work went into this. Please share/comment/like here or on YouTube to help it reach a wider audience.

Part 20 of my documentary, "Mucky Secrets", about the fascinating marine life of the Lembeh Strait in Indonesia.

In this final episode I take a look at more types of sea slug: Sap-sucking slugs, headshield slugs and sea hares, along with a brief look at a glorious flatworm.

After a few minor tweaks I'll release the whole 90-minute documentary on YouTube, and then there will be a DVD version and maybe even a Blu-ray if I can find someone else to make them. Thanks for watching!
