It takes a lot of courage to write from the heart like this. Good for you +DeShaun Craddock

I'd appreciate you giving this a read, or a share, or both. So far, it's getting a decent reception, and that couldn't make me happier. It really needed to be said.
A personal entry regarding race and photography.

1 Self Portrait A Week  -

unfortunately I wasn't able to participate in the multiple exposure self portrait challenge but after seeing all the great entries I thought I'd share one I did a few years ago. I was shooting some interiors for a friends retail space and I did this composite to add a human element. I've done versions of this all in camera with long exposure but putting them together in post is often easier while producing more predictable results.

A good man with some real vision.

Hardest Post Ive Ever Had to Write....

While the past year brought Six Beats so much closer to being able to produce content for everyone....
(We have a 2nd meeting with a major streaming music service on Monday...and have a major music instrument retailer on board. We even managed to get YouTube to invite us to their studios to house the project. The people who do the books for KISS and Dave Matthews band are setting up the books for Six Beats. We've also begun to align a board of directors after much work trying to find top individuals to ensure Six Beats becomes the gem its meant to. Heck the fund  below was set up by one of my board of advisors....who.. on her companies board of directors sits both Steven Tyler and Rodger Daltery. She is even trying to get Six Beats officially connected to The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. So you see amazing things are happening.)
All that glitters is not gold though.....I've personally hit some very rough times due to health and life-changes. Which have led me to living out of a very unsafe motel with not so much as even a refrigerator.
Im on the track of some work, but Ive much to overcome to ensure I don't sink.
Six Beats and myself are in desperate need of help.
If you can do anything to help.. please do ...sharing helps.
Been a long road and I'm not ready to give up now.
I came crushingly close to the end.. not wanting to reach out to anyone for help. Im a giver...I want to be in a position to connect inspire share and create change. So to ask for help.. especially from strangers.. especially when I said from the get go that the idea is powerful enough that I should never have to publicly fund it as its valuable enough for companies to create and sustain it. Which I still believe to be true...it just takes a little time.
Im humbled in asking you all for help. And Im only marginally comfortable in doing so because I know what I stand to offer in return for the chance to succeed. Otherwise.. truthfully...if there was no Six Beats.. Id probably have just given up all-together.

I honestly dont have words.
All i can say is Im committed to working feverishly to ensure that people understand the importance of sharing.
Thats what six beats is all about..
One heart beat.. bub-bub
Shared with another.. bub-bub
Leads to a change in both bub-bub... hence six beats. ( this is the first time Ive explained why the name.. and oddly... no ones ever asked. Which is great.. I think people just get it.

But what they dont get is that here I am.. actually blessed to be more talented than most.. and Im not being boastful.. but I play 4 instruments ( none of which I can afford to own any longer) Im a photographer...
And I can cook and dance.. and do a myriad of things peopel find difficult.. but
Ive suffered from depression most of my life, and It stemmed from having a strong desire to want to do something grand that would be as cool as the cool things I grew up in awe of..
And not having the support but rather being taught fear.
Taught that the world was dangerous and that dreams were frivolous. And that big things weren't for me.
I wound up working in a job where bad habits ran rampant, uneducated ego driven displays of unhealthy activity worth of the best reality tv shows were a daily soul crushing reality all too real and all too all encompassing.

Im just scratching the surface and fear I may sound all too woe is me.. when really ive went my entire life dealing and keeping quiet ... trying  desperately to make the best of it.

When I finally do get help I come to find that the only thing thats been true to me.. is this project that began as a dream.
And everything and everyone that have connected to it...
The strength and hope it represents to others has been shown to me in ways that fuel me to ensure that this project is set up properly and in line to produce an endless story of sharing and expression from countless people in a manner more vast than I think even I could dream.
And thanks to everyone  caring..  I dont know if they are caring about the project.. or just about me.. but it soaks my face with the moisture of gratitude that I can only pray I get to do for others till the day I die.

Thank you.
I sit here with 3 suitcases of clothes... a giant desktop computer ( that I now more than ever wish I could turn into a Macbook Pro so I wasn't as limited to  workplace options Anyone wanna trade? 16gb ram 2 gb video ram 27'IPS display Raid 0 SSD hard drives. Trade straight up for a macboook pro.) and a shower-kit.

Dont need much else. Just love.. and the clarity of vision and belief from everyone that they will see this project and come to know it as a household name and know they were as responsible for the change it creates as the guy holding the camera.

XOXOXOXOXO

I just really dont know how to tell you how while Im still not outta the woods.. just feeling NOT alone anymore.. and loved.. is tremendously inspiring.. so thank you for giving me that XOXOXO

The streets of Indonesia 2013 were filled with celebration and  seeing these freestyle BMX riders reminded me of my own youth.

While shooting food for the fabulous Albright seafood restaurant on Santa Monica pier I stepped out front to grab this with the phone. I had to wait for a nice series of shadows but was really pleased with the outcome.

10th pre school was a god send for our family. We put our son in public kindergarten after just turning 5 and after plenty of heart ache we learned he was not ready. We had lots of friends who had a fantastic experience with 10th street and we were able to get him in a just as 10th st sarted their year. That school year started out tough but 10th st turned it into one of the best years ever. We saw our son grow in ways we hadn't yet imagined. He became more social, more skill full, and began to love school so much he would come home and play pre school. He learned everything he needed to start kindergarten with confidence and enthusiasm. 10th st is the perfect place for our family, Cindy the director has created a warm and caring place with her fantastic staff and beautiful facilities. I love being a part of the 10th st family.
