+Maxwell Yun Hi Maxwell!
Sadly due to apple's stupidly strict software development rules this wouldn't be possible unless they release it for jailbroken iphones / ipads which I highly doubt they would be willing to do.  If you have any other questions feel free to contact me!
Have a great day! ^_^

Testing of BOINC on Android has commenced.  Due to the diversity of devices the developers are looking for testers with their devices (ultrabooks, phones, tablets, etc).  A Google Group for coordinating testing is organized and instructions how to join the testing are listed in the group.

Related at all to NativeBoinc and AndroBoinc in the Android market?

I may have got the names wrong...

Thank you +WIRED for the latest coverage on our latest development.  The addition of +Android support for volunteer computing brings about millions of new devices and cycles to advance distributed computing projects.

You get a different interface for management and its in a central location.  GridRepublic's goal is to provide additional recruitment tools on top of BOINC via the GridRepublic website.  Let companies manage and track their impact, etc.

Computing for Sustainable Water project of 6 months and Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - Phase 2 project of 2.5 years at the World Community Grid are now are finishing up their last units of work.

Thank you to all those who contributed computing time to these projects.

BOINC has an official app for Android!  (only battery powered devices at this time)

BOINC only runs while charging and connected to WIFI by default.

Thank you to the 100+ users who helped test, there are many improvements to come.

Find the app at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.berkeley.boinc

Brilliant and long overdue. There are a billion Android devices out there already and that is growing at an astounding pace. The aggregate idle mobile computation power potentially available probably already exceeds that of desk-bound personal computers. You'll no doubt soon see some wild distributed computing ideas birthed harnessing smart phone sensing capability to the +BOINC hive mind.

Friends, I had trouble trying to run BOINC under PCLinuxOS 64 bits. Do you have any clue why is that?
I run it fine in other machines with Debian-like distros since 1999.
Thanks!

For World AIDS Day 2012 ( #WAD2012 ) the World Community Grid is hosting their third annual FightAIDS@Home live webcast with Dr. Alex Perryman of the Scripps Research Institute.

Dr. Perryman will talk about the progress that the FightAIDS@Home research team has made over the past year.  This includes their work in identifying compounds that can inhibit the progression of HIV infection.  This could not be done without volunteer computing participants.

Join the webcast a few minutes early to make sure everything is working.  This is not a hangout...  join the webcast at https://apps.lotuslive.com/meetings/join?id=0327108

FightAIDS@home is a project on the World Community Grid powered by BOINC

Less than 70 hours remain for this Kickstarter project to bring highly paralleled computing out of laboratory price range down to hobby price of $99 and open to developers to explore.  (also acts as an Ubuntu computer like Raspberry pi, but faster they claim)

This could be a new SETI@home(they listed as a possible application to port in their survey) or other project accelerating card or computer.

Can the BOINC community help them reach their goal?  What project would you want to see ported first?

The 'CLUSTER' pkg is actually the best bang for the buck considering the CoreMarks/MHz @ http://www.coremark.org/ (View all Core scores @ http://www.coremark.org/benchmark/index.php?pg=benchmark >>> then filter by Adapteva) - impressive 8X 24.35 or 2X 99.44)

Volunteer your spare computrons for scientific research!
Introduction
This group has been created to increase awareness for the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing... BOINC for short. BOINC is pronounced (boy-ink).

BOINC is a computer program that enables you to harness the spare capabilities of your computer in the background when you have your computer on.  The setup process is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Setup:
2. Install BOINC (like you would any other program)
3. Select the project(s) you would like to help - (you will create accounts upon selecting projects)

OR

Setup, discover, and manage via an account manager

After selecting your projects that is it.  BOINC will run in the background when you use your computer.  If you wish you can change preferences only to run at certain times like when you are not at your computer.

You can help raise awareness by posting your own statistics or those of your team. Anything related to BOINC is welcome.
