Love this version. Do you think spectators enjoy the twisting aces? I find it cool, because I can admire the underlying mechanics but I get a feeling that this is quite dull for onlookers. In fairness, I've never tried it to a public crowd — just a hunch.
The method behind this trick is so simple you will never work it out, it's almost too simple. I think if I said what the method is no one would believe me because it relies on being bold rather than being mechanically skilful. I haven't seen anyone in this entire comment thread discuss the actual solution.
But that's not the point ... don't treat magic as a latent puzzle that needs solving. It's a performance.
