Plenty of research opportunities in financial networks. Who controls the world? Watching the TedX video is highly recommended.

This is really important:

"Ideas relating to finance, economics and politics are very often tainted by people’s personal ideologies. I hope that this complexity perspective allows for some common ground to be found, “ Glattfelder says in today’s talk. “It would be great if it has the power to help end the gridlock of conflicting ideas, which appear to be paralyzing our global world. Reality is so complex — we need to move away from dogma. But this is only my personal ideology."

I'm trying to visualize multiple group membership. So far, I can only assign a node to one group, by grouping on attribute (like in UCINET and NodeXL). I would like to assign one node to more than one group. Can anyone help me with this? I'm sure I'm not the first trying to accomplish this.

Thanks Alessandro. That's what I mean, overlapping communities. Perhaps like Venn-diagrams. I'll look into cfinder. And I'm also interested in Moses' question, which would look like parallel/duplicate nodes at different places/groups in the network. That would simplify the graph a lot.
