Who doesn't like chocolate 🍫 🍪 🍩 ? In 2011, the Pueblo Viejo mine partnered with 28 local communities on an agro-forestry project that transformed the region economically and environmentally. The project, which includes cacao plantations, continues today—and it’s now completely self-sustaining.

Transitioning from military to civilian life can be challenging for veterans. One of the many hurdles is finding meaningful work. To help address this issue, Barrick has sponsored a program in Nevada called Operation Bravo—helping veterans gain job experience via internships with local companies. The program was organized by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Great Basin College, which is based in Elko, Nevada. Last week, Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval attended an event in Elko to recognize veterans who participated in the program.
