Locally caught fish along with fresh home produce is served in its luxury restaurant. The presence of real log fires and its old world bar showcase the elegant charm of the residence.

Ballynahinch Castle is set in 350 acres on stunningly beautiful grounds offering fishing rights on own our river and lakes, cycling, tennis as well as 26,000 acres of prime woodcock shoot among its hotel activities.

The castle is within close proximity to Connemara fishing courses, horse riding, and a championship golf course.

Ballynahinch has been untouched by time and offers a highly comfortable late 20th Century experience.

Bridgestone's Jameson Guide, Fodors and Karen Brown and have all recommended this luxury Galway hotel that holds Two AA Rosettes.

An amazingly beautiful, serene place. Rooms were posh, and food was delicious. Beautiful landscape with paths for walking. Would love to stay here again.

Disappointing. Highly over-rated and uncomfortable castle. Our beds were so old that there were imprints where the previous people slept. When you lay down you sink in about an extra 10 inches. The room was incredibly hot and the entire castle was rather noisy throughout the night. When I spoke to the manager about this she simply smiled and said, "We are so sorry!" I inquired about a partial refund and she repeated her statement. I would not stay here again.

Possibly one of the most amazing experiences is finding a castle with impeccable service and a world class head chef, Xin Sun, in Connemara Ireland. This is an experience not to be missed. Enjoy a beautiful nature walk and then settle in for one of the best dining experiences of your life. Dennis & Charlotte Hayes

One of my top 5 (and really is #1) hotels I have ever stayed. Currently here for my Dad's 80th bday - third trip 2010, 2012 and now 2014. It is his favorite place to visit. The staff is amazing, the food is excellent and the rooms have old world elegance befitting such a historic place. A short drive from the lovely town of Clifden that has some light shopping, pubs and a general warm and friendly ambiance. Btw - I believe the photos are representative of the facilities - in fact this trip, i was in the bedroom from the slideshow - and many of my personal pics look just like the ones on the website.

Best Night in Ireland. My wife and I did a pre-wedding honeymoon to Ireland in July 2013. We stayed in Dublin for a night than drove west. First night on the west was in Connemara. The rating would still be a 5star without the free upgrade to a fancy suit but that didn't hurt. We lost the charger for our camera and the front desk was more than happy to help. We ate a fantastic dinner in the dinning room while watching the hurling semi finals. Then we walked around the grounds took some wonderful pictures and relaxed in the amazing room. It was one of the first thing that comes to mind when we talk about our trip to Ireland. Thank you to all the staff you made it a perfect start to a wonderful trip.

Honestly, I wasn't blown away by my stay here but it was OK. The grounds are great---lots of places to walk around. The hotel has a lot of services available but they were all super expensive---for example it was 35 euro per person to take a 2 hour tour walk around the castle grounds. The dinner was good, but again, I've had way better meals for a better price. The poached eggs in the morning were probably the fluffiest I've ever had! And yes, it wasn't like as impressive of a castle as other ones, but it still had the castle vibes.

Our experience has been unforgettable. I must say a few nice words about the chef, as foodies, we were amazed and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here, i still miss the walnut bread for breakfast and everything else of course. The dinner was top quality - and that's speaking from someone who has been living in London for the past 10 years and travelled around the world. Service was impeccable. We certainly enjoyed reading a book in the Hunt's room by the fire after dinner. The view from our room was peaceful, we had a few walks in the woodland, it's absolutely delightful. If it's a clear night, oh my, you have to look out for the shooting stars. I have never seen so many stars and such beautiful sky!! There are things can certainly use some upgrade of course, but overall we really enjoyed our stay. The water from the shower/tap was light yellow colour somehow, but i guess it's due to the geographical reasons.

Lovely place really, wish we could've stayed longer! Dinner was excellent! The fillet-mignon I enjoyed was cooked to perfection! I highly recommend this place. Couple notes: They have a bar, Wireless, cozy seating areas (some next to inviting fireplaces), breakfast is served from 8am till 10am. Hope this helps inform potential interests in the place, cheers Heislers from Anchorage,AK
