Kangaroo Island in South Australia has its very own subspecies of kangaroo, which is aptly named the Kangaroo Island Kangaroo! They're related to the Western Grey but are shorter and stockier than their mainland relatives, and also have a unique dark chocolate coloured fur with black tips. (Photo: Cassie Zuill)

The countdown until the start of the Mon Repos Turtle season, which runs from November through to January, is now on! Located within the Southern Great Barrier Reef near +Visit Bundaberg, the Mon Repos Conservation Park supports the largest concentration of nesting marine turtles on the Eastern Australian mainland.
