The willingness to so quickly negate Bernie Sanders is a shame because he does get it, a whole lot more, in fact, than most of those far more likely to become our presidential nominees.
He won’t win presidential primary, but he can help shift debate to where it needs to be

The Asbury Park Press toured the Shore's colleges last week as part of a campaign it called #njneedsMe. It asked millennials — the generation roughly between the ages of 18 and 35 — how the Garden State can keep them here.
#njneedsMe college tour wraps after a week of engaging with students about whether they'll leave New Jersey or stay.

"It ain't no sin to be glad you're alive," said Kelly Magnus recently at Leggett's Sand Bar in Manasquan, quoting a line from the song 'Badlands.' "That's at the root of everything. That's what ties everything together for me. When you're feeling down about yourself and you're depressed and I've been depressed before, when you hear Bruce Springsteen sing, and listen, I get lifted up."
Kelly Magnus of Fanwood has seen the light.

"Polls indicate Gov. Chris Christie is not too popular in New Jersey now. One of the reasons is his critics say he has written off the state that elected him to run for president. More galling is that it is costing taxpayers."
Not every governor running for president sticks taxpayers with the security tab. Chris Christie's a big-time fundraiser and should raise a bit extra to cover the costs for his troopers.
