Join us for the 30th annual Gatsby Summer Afternoon!

Every year, the Dunsmuir mansion in Oakland comes to life as what looks like a movie set for The Great Gatsby: everyone dressed in 20s and 30s daywear, picnicking amid vintage autos sprawled out on the lawn, and dancing to authentic jazz era tunes. See photos of past years at www.gatsbysummerafternoon.com/gallery.

Please note: in order to preserve the spirit of the Gatsby Summer Afternoon, we ask that everyone dress up in period attire or reasonable facsimile. For newcomers, we recommend you attend our How to Gatsby lecture. Find more information at www.gatsbysummerafternoon.com/how-to-gatsby.

Here is the petition! Don't tear down Glenview School, an Art Deco structure by an important architect in a charming part of Oakland with older homes. There are funds to renovate and modernize for safety and a better learning environment but demolition of the entire building is NOT needed. Please sign the petition. If you sign before Thursday afternoon May 1 it will surely help!
