In case it wasn't obvious, Leapdragon is back after an extended hiatus.

Quick note for 7D-501U owners—got a very reasonable setup on KitKat @320dpi w/all Google apps using the following:

B102 ROM from: http://www.shuaji.net/huawei/x1/roms/2014093020682.html

Immediately got OTA to B103

These ROMs change the name of the device to "MediaPad" (from "Honor") but all radios appear to work (I'm in the U.S. on the AT&T network).

Installed Nova Launcher and Jelly Bean keyboard (lighter weight than Swype or others, very close to stock), rooted with Vroot/iRoot, then went to 320 dpi by doing this:

1) Download terminal app
2) Download and install busybox
3) Start terminal
4) Run these commands:
su
mount -o remount,rw /system
chattr -R -i /system
5) Edited build.prop (there are apps or use a text editor or vi) to add:
qemu.sf.lcd_density=320
ro.sf.lcd_density=320

Odd thing about step 4—I had to remount several times in a row for it to take. After running the commands in step four, do this to test and see if it worked (from the Terminal app, after running su):
touch /system/test
ls /system

You should see "test" in the list of files shown for /system. If you don't, run the commands in step 4 again.

Once this was all done, I was on KitKat w/320 DPI. Happily, the B102 ROM is mostly free of cruft (just a bunch of games, which you can freeze out using TitaniumBackup or similar).

The b102 rom comes with all of the Google apps (including G+) and everything works with the exception of the Google keyboard, for which the Jelly Bean Keyboard app is an almost exact replacement.

There's only one glitch that I can see—for some apps, icon sizes are incorrect, leading to a tiny icon slightly out of position. This shows up on the launcher, but with Nova you can edit the icon (long-tap, then choose "Edit") and you can download icons for most any app by searching Google for the app name plus the word "icon").

This also shows up in one or two lists (i.e. in TitaniumBackup the icons for the apps will be slightly off) but none that are regularly used.

Everything else seems to work fine and after sticking on 4.2 for a long time because of the 400dpi issue, I'm now happy to be on 4.4 at 320dpi (albeit with a "MediaPad X1" rather than an "Honor X1").

The U.S. Senate has already passed the Marketplace Fairness Act, which would affect the way sellers collect sales taxes from U.S. buyers, and the House of Representatives is currently considering it.

Information on the act has trickled out across the web, but it's often general and ambiguous. What is the act, in concrete terms, who does it effect, when would it take effect, and what does it mean for eBay and Amazon sellers?

Here are some simple answers to the most obvious questions about the act.
