Looking for a winter activity that doesn’t require you to leave the warmth of the house? Release your inner Eskimo with these deliciously healthy Coconut Cacao Snowballs.

All you will need is:  Set aside the 4 tbsp of shredded coconut, ideally onto a space plate.

Place 1 cup of raw almonds, 12 pitted medjool dates, 4 tbsp shredded coconut, 1 tsp vanilla extract and 2 tbsp chia seeds into a food processor and blend for 1-2 minutes. You will notice that the mixture will become very fine and sticky. Use a teaspoon to scoop out the mixture and roll a ball.

Roll ball in shredded coconut to lightly coat, and repeat this process with the rest of the mixture.

Need something to keep the kids occupied these school holidays? Why not make this playdough at home?

Just heat 2 cups flour, 2 cups warm water, 1 cup salt 2 tbsp vegetable oil, 1 tbsp cream of tartar and a couple of drops of food colouring in a pan over a low heat, stirring until it pulls away from the sides and clumps in the centre.

Allow to cool before handling. If the mixture looks too sticky, keep stirring and cooking over the heat - it will work!

School holidays are underway and no doubt the kids need something to do! So why not make these cool bouncy balls at home?

In a cup mix 1/2 cup warm water and 1 tbsp borax. In another cup mix 2 tbsp PVC glue, 1 tbsp cornstarch and a couple of drops of food colouring.

Pour the glue mixture into the water cup and you’ll see it harden after about 10 seconds. Use a fork to take the hardened mixture out of the water (if the glue mixture is still sticky, squish it with your hands and dip it back in the water).

Roll the mixture in your hands to make a ball. The more you handle the mixture the firmer it will become. And that’s it! Store them in small plastic containers and if the balls will flatten after use, just roll them between your palms again to bring them back to the ball shape.
