Yes, rumors are many right now, specially because of their invitation saying something about "new gaming platform". But even if they might announce an Android console or something like that, there could still be space for a tablet upgrade too, to work even better with the new gaming platform. I doubt that nVidia will give up easily on the gaming tablet, because there is a market for it, and they did make a very solid device with shield tablet, that scores some of the best reviews for gaming tablets.
