Today we’re launching Google Camera, a new app for your Android phone or tablet that makes it easy to take quick photos and videos. And being behind the lens just got more fun with new creative picture modes.

Sleek Design. The 100% viewfinder gets out of your way while capturing the maximum resolution of the scene (no dropped pixels). And the extra large capture button is easy to press so your eyes never lose sight of the subject.

Lens Blur. Emphasize the subject while blurring the background for an SLR-like shot with shallow depth-of-field (or bokeh). You can even change the subject in focus after taking the shot.

Improved Panorama. New higher resolution panoramas capture the full width and detail of a scene.

Photo Sphere. Immersive 360 degree photo spheres let you look up, down and all at up to 50 megapixels! For the first time available on non-Nexus devices.

Google Camera is now available on the Play store (, and works on all phones and tablets running Android 4.4+ KitKat. We’re just getting started, and in the months ahead we'll make Google Camera available to more devices, helping make photography easier, faster and more fun.

Google Keep just got a little easier. If you add new images with text in Keep, search now finds printed text within those image so you can find what you're looking for even quicker. A new 'Trash' view in your Keep drawer comes in handy in case you delete something by mistake (where you'll now have an extra 7 days before it's permanently gone). And for the list-makers, your checked items now automatically move to the bottom of your lists so you can easily see what still needs to get done.

Try Keep today on the web (, on Android ( and on Chrome (

Sharing what’s up our sleeve: Android coming to wearables

Today we’re excited to extend Android to wearables. And we’re starting with the most familiar wearable—watches. We’re already working with several consumer electronics manufacturers, including Asus, HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung; chip makers Broadcom, Imagination, Intel, Mediatek and Qualcomm; and fashion brands like the Fossil Group to bring you watches powered by Android Wear later this year. If you’re a developer, check out to download a Developer Preview so you can tailor your existing app notifications for watches powered by Android Wear. Look out for more developer resources and APIs coming soon.

A few months ago we introduced an experience on Nexus 5 that made it easier to access all the goodness of Google Now directly from the home screen. Today we’re making that same experience available to more devices when you install the Google Now Launcher on any Nexus or Google Play edition phone or tablet running KitKat.

Google Now Launcher gives you quick access to Google Now, while keeping your apps right where you want them. Just tap home and then swipe right to access Google Now cards that show you just the right information, at just the right time. And anytime you see the search box at the top of your screen, you can say “Ok Google” (if you’re in the US, UK, or Canada), or you can tap the microphone button to trigger voice input. From there, you can ask a question, or tell your phone what to do, like send a message, get directions, or play a song. If you'd rather type your query, tap the Google search box, which now loads faster than ever.

Google Now Launcher also gives you a beautiful, immersive, and simple experience. The full-screen, larger viewing area lets your wallpaper pop from every pixel. And of course you can place your favorite apps anywhere you like.

If you’ve got a Nexus or Google Play edition device with Android 4.4 KitKat, try Google Now Launcher today by getting it from the Google Play Store here:
