Rilasciato #geopaparazzi  4.2.0: mai piu' in campo senza dati

Ecco quali sono i dati sui quali si puo' contare quando si e' in campo soli e senza rete ... e mancano dei dati :-)

When I got that odd issue on the tracker about the GPS azimuth value not being properly handled in Geopaparazzi, I didn't think that this release would have any new feature. But well, once you sit down to fix things, you see ...

Happy birthday HydroloGIS!!! You just turned 10!!!

A (not so short) collection of thoughts about the company I founded with Silvia exactly 10 years ago:

http://jgrasstechtips.blogspot.it/2015/02/hydrologis-10-years-of-proud-italian.html
I still remember it as if it was yesterday. We were sitting in the lab of Unitn (the Faculty of Evironmental Engineering of the University of Trento, where we were doing research for professor Rigon) and we were thinking abou...

Just added to the schedule for Feb 11: Andrea Antonello - Geopaparazzi (http://www.geopaparazzi.eu)
Geopaparazzi is a tool developed to do very fast qualitative engineering/geologic surveys. Even if the main aim is in the field of surveying, it contains tools that can be of great use also to OpenStreetMappers as well as tourists that want to keep a geo-diary. Geopaparazzi is now available on ...

Geopaparazzi (almost only) bugfix release 4.1.1
A user from the Italian GFOSS mailinglist made me aware of a nasty bug in the new polygon editing system. Basically when merging two polygons creating a new polygon, the result would not be written on a multipolygon layer, which is simply wrong. This has be...

Geopaparazzi 4.1.0 is out: beam it to me!
Well, as sad as I am that Geopaparazzi 4.1.0 doesn't support Android versions before 4.1, it was definitely time to move on from version 2.3. For those with older devices version 3 of geopaparazzi will hopefully work. This gave me finally the possibility to...

How to properly create spatialite data for geopaparazzi
This has been asked quite some times and too often people complain about the fact that spatialite databases created in QGIS are not visible in Geopaparazzi. I know, I also wish it was always simple and straight forward. What I can do right now, is to show y...

#geopaparazzi  4.2.0 is out: never out of data in the field

See what kind of data you can still count on when you are offline and alone in the field... and you didn't prepare enough data :-)

Story
Introduction

I'm an environmental engineer addicted to GIS development playing in the field of hydrologic and geomorphologic modelling with JGrass.

In the foss4g world I develop and coordinate the JGrasstools and Geopaparazzi projects and am in the Project Steering Comittee of uDig

Since 2005 I'm cofounder of HydroloGIS, were we mainly develop around and make use of JGrass.

I have a PhD in Environmental Sciences at the University of Urbino where I developed with the LINEE group uDig extensions for digital field mapping, which are bundled in the BeeGIS project.
